![]() | Name: CROOK Sex: Female Description: Crook is easily identified by her badly mutilated front right hand. We are not sure how her hand was so badly hurt, but suspect that she could have been knocked over as her whole arm appeared to have breaks. Unfortunately for Crook she was not able to be treated and so the arm set in this bad deformity. | ![]() Adopted by: SHARKCONCERN Website: www.sharkconcern.org Date: September 2006
![]() | Name: QUIZZY Sex: Male Description: Quizzy is the son of Golden Arrow (also called Astika). He earned his name for his quizzical nature and well developed sense of humour. Quizzy left the troop shortly after his mother was killed last year — at the time he seemed very young to be dispersing and certainly he did not cope well with the beatings he got upon trying to gain entry to Eric's troop. Quizzy has tried to rejoin the Da Gama troop and is currently following the troop at a healthy distance. | ![]() Adopted by: Website: Date:
![]() | Name: NOSKETI Sex: Mature male Description: [Ex-Slangkop troop — currently following Da Gama troop] Nosketi is a real gentle giant. He was badly attacked by residents of Welcome Glen and suffered a nasty cut across his back as well as a bad traumatic hernia over his lung. Despite these injuries, Nosketi remains gentle and incredibly tolerant of humans — he is often found on his own away from the troop as he hates fighting with the other males. We assume that Nosketi is Eric's son as they have the same large head and shoulders — but the Baboon Monitors say he has nothing of Eric's cunning.
![]() | Name: GEORGE Sex: Mature male Description: Georgie is the much loved leader of the Da Gama troop. He is a lover not a fighter (despite being in some huge fights in his day!) — George will always be found with the children of the troop clustered around him and to my knowledge he has never committed infanticide.
![]() | Name: TAMMY/THAMSINGA Sex: Female Description: Thamsanqa is the Xhosa word for 'lucky' or 'lucky one'. The Baboon Monitors named her after she had been shot 4 times with a high caliber weapon. As a result of her injuries her femur was shattered and her back right leg had to be amputated — the monitors felt that she was lucky to be alive, so severe were her wounds. Tammy recently gave birth to her first infant (named Trevor). She has been an exceptional mother — managing to carry Trevor and look after him despite the physical disability of having only three legs!
